I raise my eyes up to the sky
On this moonless clear night.
And there I see you shining bright,
Oh, so very far away.
Other stars are brighter by far,
With a luminance all their own.
Gladly they congregate,
Their collective wares to show.
Their grandeur displayed
For all to view
Upon heavens pallet
Of ebony glow.
But there you stay,
Far off the center sky,
Almost alone,
In your private part of the night.
The cadence of your heart
Is displayed in the soft glow.
Quietly you say to all that see,
You are a star of your own.
